48/52
"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2012."
Che: "Mum, I'll be the sun and you are the earth. Move around me in circles but don't get too close, you'll burn!"
Poet: circa 1968? No, it was taken in 2012, promise.
For those of you joining the 52 project in 2013....I've commissioned illustrator Rebekka Seale to create a beautiful "52 - a portrait a week" button for you to place on your sidebar. It will be ready at the very end of December, just in time for 1/52.
Tell me, are you joining in next year? If so, are you excited?

I'll be joining in for the first time. Very excited. This is what I love about blogging capturing everyday moments that would normally slip by. Thanks Jodi :)
ReplyDeleteGosh, what a great imagination he has!
ReplyDeleteHave loved joining in the last few months, will def be starting again in January xx
yes! i've loved the project so far, will be continuing into the new year. i love che's wise, wise words. such a great image. will you be doing a linky next year? :)sarah
ReplyDeleteI am considering the linky thing...I just have to get past the fact that aesthetically, it's not all that pleasing (I'm so fussy). Would you like me to include a linky? x
DeleteI've been holding off joining in until the new year. I love a clean start. Can't wait x
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Greer. Start nice and fresh in 2013!
DeleteChe's idea of you being the Earth just about knocked me off my feet. He's full of imagination! And Poet definitely is channeling the 60s, no doubt ; )
ReplyDeleteAlso, I haven't thought about joining "52-a portrait a week". I believe I'm ready for the challenge.
Gorgeous photos Jodi.. And yes can't wait to join in. Sam x
ReplyDeleteSeriously thinking about doing this. I do a 'little bits' photography sum up most weeks but I love this idea too.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the earth and sun thing, lovely :)
i think i may join along. it's a great project to document my children and the changes they go through in one year.
ReplyDeleteWow - Che's earth and sun idea is a brilliant teaching idea! I'm looking forward to taking part in the 52 Portraits next year and can't wait!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful as always! And what a thinker that little man of your is. I've been joining in for a while now and love it. I have adored capturing all the beautiful little nuances of my babies' personalities. And how lovely to think of a Rebekkah Seale button. Hope your Sunday is spectacular. Christmas tree shopping perhaps? x x
ReplyDeleteoh yes please, i was putting links on my blog of all the other portrait-takers I'd been visiting, but it was getting a bit laborious ;) i just love popping in to visit everyone's portraits each week and being inspired. :)sarah
ReplyDeleteSweet moments captured right there. I'd love to join in next year, count me in!
ReplyDeleteI've been joining for the past 6 months and I'm just a tad excited to be adding another portrait to my collections next year!
ReplyDeletewoohooo :)
Yes! I will be joining in. I cannot wait to begin. Though I am thinking of starting in December, both have birthdays in December, and I want to document them a week at a time until their next birthday, Tamika will turn 21 in 2013 and Jarvis 2. So first portraits of them will be taken this week.

yes i will definitely be joining in. i have been doing the project 366 this year but as i am not so good at remembering to take a photo everyday maybe this would be better for me.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to join in for 2013. With my second blessing due early January I need a good way to document both the precious souls in my life. This is perfect:) x ashley
ReplyDeleteis that a billum?? my dad is from png and we grew up sleeping and playing in them! great photos jodi, love this series!
ReplyDeleteIt's a hammock; a very necessary part of our summer days x
DeleteI haven't got any children, but I have a husband who dances around like a little boy when he is happy. He will be my subject. As will a photo that really sums up the week's essence.
ReplyDeleteMy best,
Jo Farmer
I'll be starting "A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013." over at my NEW BLOG http://littlewanti.blogspot.com.au/
ReplyDeleteI am excited to join in this project. I think its a great way to reflect on what matters in life. And I look forward to the button.
ReplyDeleteJodi I'm in for 2013 - and quite excited about it too! Cannot wait to grab Rebekka's button, that is so kind of her! I am such a fan! :)
ReplyDeleteLike Greer I have been holding off for a new year start. Looking forward to joining in then.
ReplyDeleteI must say, Che looks very grown up in that first picture. And Poets curls are just the dearest things. :)
Lovely photographs, as always.
ReplyDeleteWhere has this year gone? I am still in disbelief that 2013 is less than a month away.
I am looking forward to joining in next year.
Cheers,
Caitlin from Mother Down Under
I'll be joining in. I've been taking photos almost everyday of my new bubba but for the 52 portraits I'll actually take the time to print them out & put them in an album. Also it might give me a chance to learn how to use my camera better. I paid alot for it & the picture quality doesn't reflect that. That might be my fault though!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely joining in :) I'm struggling to get through my 366 at the moment - morning sickness is not a friend when it comes to these things. I'm thinking that one photo a week will be much easier to handle. I'm very much looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteOh congratulations! I love the idea of 366....but the reality is just too stressful. A photo a week is very achievable x
DeleteYes I'll be joining in! I've really enjoyed the project this year, so thank you for the inspiration! I have one question though Jodi - have you decided how you will print your 2012 photo books, and who will print them? I'm currently researching companies and wondered if you had found a good quality option at a good price!? I recently went with snapfish for a little holiday book and wasn't impressed with the binding. Thank you so much. V :)
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't decided yet. One of my projects for January is to collate all the images, find a reputable printing company and create the design. I'll keep you updated x
DeleteThank you. I look forward to hearing what you come up with. January sounds like a good time to do it :)
DeleteI have used Blurb before and absolutely love the end result :)
Deletethanks lovely, i trust your judgement x
DeleteBlurb has always been good when I've used them. You've inspired me to print up 2012 pics into a book of our own.
DeleteI'll be joining in. Neither of my children have any photo albums, I think this is the perfect way for me to start.
ReplyDeleteps How lovely to have a special Rebekka Seale button. Looking forward to seeing what she creates.
Yes. I will be. And yes, i am excited. It is such a wonderful project. I have loved doing a photo a day, but it is a very big commitment. A portrait a week next year will be far more managable.
ReplyDeleteThis photo of Poet is a keeper. Just exquisite. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Jodi. Really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to join in next year xxx
We'll be joining in, for sure. And how lovely to have a little button by Rebekah too x
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for 2013 to start so that I can join the project too. I'm so eager to participate that I've been leaving little notes in my diary each week to remind myself of when to start. Xo
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to participate. X
ReplyDeleteIsn't he a smart little cookie. Lovely photos again. I'm only 4 weeks in but loving the weekly series. I couldn't wait until Jan to start 2013 ;)
ReplyDeleteYes i plan to! It will be a nice way to document my bump and then the toddler and the baby as they change each week. That's if i can get my hands free to take a pic!
ReplyDeleteSounds great! I'm in!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to jioning you next year. I only started a few weeks ago and I am enjoying capturing a photo of my little ones to remember and record.
ReplyDeletehttp://mealyandi.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/52.html
i would love to join in ... a beautiful way to reflect and capture x
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to join in. Poet is too cute.
ReplyDeletehoping to do this too. even though my lads as tween and teens may be a little reluctant i think it will be a great chance to document a year of so much change as they continue to grow taller than me! *sniff*
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited about participating next year- but wondering where on earth this year has gone! Beautiful photos and captions as usual Jodi x
ReplyDeletei think this is the most beautiful idea and i cant wait to start in January! What a delicious keep sake they will have!
ReplyDeleteI have watched your 52 project unfold and loved it. I take photos of my kids almost daily. I think the best part of being involved in this is that it will help me edit so that I am left with a lovely record of 2013 - perhaps not of the best photo but of the best moment. So count me in.
ReplyDeleteCarol
Awww!
ReplyDeleteYes and yes. Looking forward to the button <3
ReplyDeleteHi Jodi
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of your blog and the way you capture and inspire through your photography and words. I would love to join in the 52 project next year. Wish also that I could come to your photography and writing workshop next year. Alas too far from Blighty ( and boy, is it chilly over here at the mo!)
Looking forward to the 52 button too. What a treat!
Am definitely hope to join in with your 'once a week' portraits in 2013. I always love seeing which snapshots you've chosen out for the week x
ReplyDeleteWe'll join you all the way from the San Francisco Bay. Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteJodi, I really look forward for the next 52 project
ReplyDeleteLove,
Citra

ReplyDeleteEn "El Conde Lucanor" hay dos cuentos. El brujo conoce lasinvocaciones satanicas "en idioma". Esta vez tuvo suerte. Joan Anderman in the Boston Globe summed up Gelb as "the mythical diablo 3 gold American cowboy spray-painted in strange, muted shades. Think art-school Neil Young, or Lou Reed wandering the buy diablo 3 gold Mojave Desert."Gelb's verve for doing what comes naturally does not always translate into commercial success: All of Giant Sand's releases until diablo gold the mid-1990s were put out on independent labels and many were marketed to fans directly through mail-order.
